Your phrase controls your wallet
A recovery phrase, usually 12 or 24 words, can restore access to all funds in a wallet. Store it offline, keep it private, and never paste it into websites, chats, email, or support forms. Anyone who sees the phrase can take the assets, so treat it like the keys to a vault.
How to store it safely
Write the phrase on paper or engrave it on metal and keep it somewhere private and durable. Avoid screenshots, cloud notes, and photos, which can sync to servers or be seen by malware. Consider keeping a second copy in a separate secure location in case the first is lost or damaged.
Local app protection
6uo Wallet can use device protections such as Face ID or a passcode to help secure app unlocks. This protects the app on your phone, but device unlock security does not replace your recovery phrase backup. If your phone is lost, the phrase is still what restores your wallet.
Support boundaries
6uo Foundation support can help troubleshoot app behavior, but support cannot recover a lost recovery phrase and will never ask for private keys, seed phrases, or one-time wallet secrets. Any message claiming otherwise is an impersonation attempt.
